THANK YOU
We would like to offer immeasurable thanks to the Friends, Family, and Art World Patrons, as we have reached the funding goal to help Vusi Beauchamp with his emergency cardiac surgery. With no pun intended, a heartfelt thank you from the artist and his community for your generous donations and unbelievable support.
We always hope that when life brings us seemingly insurmountable circumstances, there will be something that can alleviate the pain and hardship. As a gallery that was born from political protest and a deep desire for change, we understand that the strongest part of what we do is our community.
Mxolisi Vusimuzi Beauchamp
Heart Surgery Fundraiser
Vusi Beauchamp, one of South Africa’s most critically acclaimed artists is suffering from severe heart failure at the age of 44. His organs are shutting down. To save his life, Vusi needs urgent heart surgery, which will be conducted by a cardiology team at the Steve Biko Research Hospital in Tshwane.
Kalashnikovv Gallery will host an exhibition in conjunction with Aspire Art and David Krut Projects to raise funds to cover the expenses of this operation. To get him into surgery, a selection of Vusi’s works, and artworks donated by some of South Africa’s top artists, will be auctioned online from Thursday the 4th until the 16th of April 2024.
The local art world has come together to support a colleague in need, underpinning the spirit of kindness and a sense of hope shared by artists and the greater community. We would like to welcome our art patrons to bid on the range of great works that will be on offer, your generosity is appreciated and will contribute to the life saving surgery and aftercare costs.
Artists and collectors who have generously contributed art for auction feature works by Ayanda Mabulu, Boemo Diale, Jake Michael Singer, Johannes Phokela, Diane Victor, Yolanda Mazwana, Gerhard Marx, Senzeni Marasela, Haroon Gunn-Salie, Frances Goodman, Johan Thom, Lwando Dlamini, Theresa-Anne Mackintosh, Matthew Hindley, and many others.
