EXHIBITION STATEMENT

It’s about telling the truth. The truth is we’re surrounded by profound uncertainty, disorientation, and ambiguity on a daily basis. It’s not about change being the only constant, it’s not about that, so get that out of your head. I’m not looking for any answers, or trying to reflect on this in any way.

There is no beauty and complexity in not knowing what’s going on, in being so lost there’s no sight of what that word could even mean anymore. I used to be governed by the thought of disillusionment, and that I was dismantling conventions, but you probably shouldn’t buy that anymore because I don’t.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to deconstruct these ideals and reveal some kind of raw unfiltered truth that has been hiding beneath the surface from day one, but again, I’m not fostering false hope that there is some deeper understanding or promise of a fulfilling personal journey. I aim to not do very much other than this, that I’m doing, and I’m not offering anything more than that.

There is no promise of an alternative perspective, I’m not asking for values to be redefined, and I most definitely am not pursuing some bullshit journey of self-discovery where I act so important and celebrate the richness of individuality. I know that much at least.
